Erin Thomas
Erin Thomas is a children’s and young adult writer. She has published three books for children and reluctant readers with HIP Books (Draco’s Fire, 2009; Wolves at the Gate, 2011) and Orca Book Publishers (Boarder Patrol, 2010), and has two more contracted for publication in 2012. Her writing for adults has appeared in On Spec magazine and The Globe and Mail.
Erin is an active member of CANSCAIP and a repeat participant in the well-known Writing for Children workshop run out of Mabel’s Fables bookstore in Toronto. She has also twice been part of a week-long writing retreat/workshop in Nova Scotia, where she studied with Peter Carver and Kathy Stinson. She was awarded an OAC Writers’ Works in Progress Grant for a current juvenile project, Tyler’s Intergalactic Spy School. Along with Writescape leaders Ruth Walker and Gwynn Scheltema, she is a long-time member of the Durham-based writing and critique group Critical Ms.
